We are here not for income, but for outcome
Nanma Charibale Trust’s first initiative Tharavad, the home of happiness for the unprivileged, was founded in 2009 in Muzhappilangad, Kannur. A kilometer through the Madam-Javan road from NH-17 leads to “Tharavad”. For orphans, destitute, widows, outcasts, the sick, and many other brothers and sisters hit by the misfortunes of fate who have the only identity of mere birth and have nothing in this world to claim ownership of “Tharavad” was established. Tharavad provides them with more than just shelter by making them a big family where everyone has everyone, bound together by love and mercy.
I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this.

Heirs of Tharavad
Still, the silent gasping, quiet prayers for the recognition of being humans are ringing in the ears! Tharavad listens to it from the following sects with patient ears and kind heart;
- Sick and bedridden old-aged women.
- Ignored and rejected by relatives and society.
- Divorcees with none to take care of and nowhere to go.
- Ladies with unique needs.
- Disabled and having one to take care of.
- Mentally retarded women.

Tharavad is not merely a shelter. As the name portrays, Tharavad holds its true essence of great love, affection, care, consolation, a soothing touch, and keeping them in total peace as if they are in their maternal abode. “Tharavad” is ready with both hands extended towards the needy to satisfy their needs!
Treatment Cost
• Free treatment for backward and financially weak people.
• Subsidized treatment plan for people who can contribute in a limited way.
• All above will be scrutinized and verified on a case-to-case basis before registering their names.
• Priority will be given to the patients from the neighborhood.
“And We have certainly honored the children of Adam …and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference”.
(Holy Quran 17:70).
Among the creations of Almighty Allah, humans are the most noble among His creatures. How could we be noble unless we have no empathy in our hearts for other fellow human beings?
The futility of the materialistic gain detachment from the mortal world and the thoughts and prayers of permanent rewards may lead us to the righteous path. Then, our inner thoughts for righteousness will start to emanate and push us to work on it. Indeed, while trying to understand the pain and suffering of fellow human beings, the subsequent feeling of empathy will keep us grounded and humble.
Our limitations
While meeting the day-to-day requirements with the help of generous and kind people, the difficulties, that Tharavad is facing, are manifold. Many deserving cases crave love, affection, protection, and shelter outside our umbrella due to the pressing financial difficulties of meeting the huge day-to-day expenses as well as the demands for completing the construction of a new facility simultaneously.
